ART FOR EVERYONE,

URBAN SPACE FOR ALL

ART FOR

EVERYONE SERIES

It was Keith Haring who said, "Art is for everybody."

After his passing, 34 years later, his influence has created a movement that has exploded into the lexicon of street culture and is now a permanent fixture throughout cities everywhere.

Haring wanted to break down the barriers that often separate art from the general public, and he did so by bringing his work into the streets, subways, and public spaces. His philosophy was grounded in the idea that art could and should be a part of everyday life, accessible to all people regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.

When we started City Blocks, we wanted to launch an initiative and platform that continued what Keith built bringing art to public spaces, with street furniture. Around the world urban artists take to the streets to share their work with us, painting the inspiring backdrops to our lives in the spaces we all share.

Art for everyone is our commitment to promoting urban art in public spaces, colliding the worlds of street art and street furniture. Follow along here as we share stories, profiles and art on City Blocks internationally.

Pablo Zamudio, born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in 1974, began his artistic journey at 15. In 1998, he moved to Canada, where he worked as a graphic designer while honing his painting skills. From 2003 to 2020, he owned the renowned streetwear boutique El Kartel, curating numerous successful art shows featuring hundreds of artists, photographers, and designers. In 2020, Pablo dedicated himself fully to his artistic practice,

characterized by geometric abstraction and op-art illusions using hard-edged monochromatic fields of vibrant color. His imagery emerges from a meditative process that connects him deeply with his higher self. Influenced by his Mexican heritage, Zamudio draws inspiration from colorful markets, indigenous art, and geometric symbols, with a particular interest in Mayan, Zapotec, and Aztec cultures shaping his unique style.
